きょうはものづくり研究会の１、２年生で材料の検尺をしました。
アカデミーでは毎年、飛騨の材料市で丸太を競り落とし、板に製材してもらい、天然乾燥・人工乾燥を経て届けてもらっています。
今回、飛騨から届いたのはナラとクリの板。２年生が去年競り落とし、製材にも立ち会った材です。こうして在学中に自分たちの使う材がどこから来てどこへ行くのか、現場で学んでいくわけですね。
Today we measured some timber that was delivered to the Academy recently.
Oak and chestnut. The second year students bought them as logs last year at the timber market in Hida, and observed the sawing at the sawmill. They were then air and kiln dried before the delivery. Students learn where their material comes from and where they are going, through the lessons while they are here in the Academy.
原木の価格、市場手数料、製材費、乾燥の手数料、運賃などを計算し、今回の検尺で得た材積で割って、材種ごとの立米単価（１立法メートルあたりの価格）を出していきます。
On this lesson we calculate the price of logs, commission fee at the market, the cost of sawing, drying, and delivery, which is then divided by the volume of the timber to work out the price per cubic metre.
