Susumu Hakumae, a graduate of Gifu Academy, organized and directed a spoon making workshop for children. Here is his report.
2007年1月13日（土）、20日（土）と2回にわたり、森林文化アカデミーにて『木のスプーンづくり』が行われました。（＊この企画は美濃市こども創造館事業のひとつをものづくり研究会の協力の元、実現しました。）
今回はものづくり研究会教員・学生・卒業生及び地域で共に活動する有志が集まり『つくる』『食べる』『考える』をテーマにものづくり講座を実施致しました。美濃市の小学生を中心に12人の参加者に加え、主催の美濃市教育委員会からの応援もあり、有意義な時間を過ごすことができました。
また『おむすびづくり』『カレー食材探しクイズ』など、昼食では『手』を使って食事を行ったり、地域の食材を『味わう』ことや、仲間と『交流』をはかる時間も大切に講座の企画を行いました。
We had a spoon making workshop for children at Gifu Academy on 13th and 20th of January. This event was funded by Mino local council and was supported by the Craft and Furniture dept. of the Academy.
A tutor, some students and local colleagues attended the workshop as staffs. Some officials from the education board of Mino came to help us. Twelve local children made their own spoon.
'Make' 'Eat' and 'Think' were the key concepts of the workshop. The children enjoyed not only making spoons but making rice balls for lunch, and quiz games on curry ingredients. Local food was served, sufficient time was given for the children to communicate each other.
最後には出来上がったスプーンでプリンを食べ、『使う』喜びを感じてもらえたのではないかと思います。参加者の皆様、スタッフとして運営に携わって頂いた皆様、お疲れ様でした！！！
Each child finished their own spoon in two days and ate a pudding with it. They looked happy to have used their own 'product'. Great thanks to the staffs, and the kids!
