サンプルとしてつくっていた僕のスツールができました。
このブログに自分の作品を載せるのは初めてですね。照れくさいような・・・。
いままで、ツルツルでまっすぐな作品を多くつくっていました。
アカデミーで働くようになってから、同僚の松井・山口の作風や、「和」の視点を重視するものづくり研究会の活動に自分自身も影響を受けています。
鉋でやわらかな曲線をつけたり、削り跡を残すようなやり方は初めてでしたが、楽しんでやりました。
Today I finished my stool. Funnily enough this is the first time for me to put up the photos of my own work to this blog.
Most of my works have been smooth and plain. But since I started working at the Academy I have been getting some influence from the work of my colleagues Tokinari Matsui and Hiroshi Yamaguchi, and the activities of the craft and furniture making dept. itself, which emphasizes 'study of Japan' or say,'Japan-ness'.
And this is the result. It is the first experiment for me to shape the parts with handplane and to leave the shaving mark on them, and I enjoyed it.
