しばらく更新できませんでしたが、ウインザーチェアづくり、なんとか終了しました。
アームの曲げは、はじめは柔らかいクリで試しましたが、蒸し足りなくて外に割れが発生したり、蒸しすぎて内にシワがよってしまったり、加減に苦労しました。結局、アームのみナラを用いて無事に曲げることができました。
I had some troubles when bending the arm. At first I tried sweet chestnut which is much softer than oak. It gets wrinkles inside if the steaming is too much, and it breaks outside if the steaming is too little. I ended up with changing the material to oak.

This is the chair I made. It looks okay but there are so many unpleasant details that I don't take close up photos. I started this project as a tribute to Tomio Murakami, Japan's chair master who passed away in July. Through the project I recognized again of his great craftsmanship.
