１日目の夕食の後は、近隣の洋野町にある「大野産業デザインセンター」の中家所長さん、職人の中村さんをお招きして、木の器づくりを通してまちづくりを３０年近くに渡って続けているところです。製品は「大野木工」として知られ、地元の学校給食器に使われていることでも有名です。実は、参加者のみなさんとの夕食に使った器も、わざわざ大野から持って来ていただいた給食の器でした。前回の写真、ご覧になってみてください。
After the dinner Mr. Nakaie and Mr. Nakamura, both from Hirono-cho, neighbour town of Kuzumaki, gave us a lecture on the thirty years of effort to develop their town through wooden bowl making. Their products are well known as 'Ohno Bowls', which has been used for their school meal. Did you notice the bowls and plates we used at the dinner? Those were the Ohno Bowls. Look at the photo on the previous post.
地元の材料から、地元でみずから使うものを作る。今回、参加者の方に体験していただいたグリーンウッドワークのスプーンづくりもそうですが、それをプロのレベルで行ってきたのが大野の方たちです。中家所長さんからまちづくりの歴史を、中村さんから器づくりの技術をそれぞれじっくり伺うことができて、参加者のみなさんにもとても好評でした。
作る体験を通して、プロのつくった木のモノのファンにもなってもらえれば、と思います。
They make bowls from local tree for local people. It was so nice to learn from them as we share the same philosophy with them. Mr.Nakaie talked about the history of Ohno woodworking, and Mr. Nakamura showed us his technique and craftsmanship.
I hope every participants become a fan of professional craft through the experience of making.
