2 /graduation theses -final presentation2

The final presentation of graduation theses by postgraduate students took place on 21st Feb.
It is a compilation of their two years of study at Gifu Academy. Each students was given 20 minutes for their presentation. It is only a small part of their study as they have to summarise it so that the students of other department can understand. Still each presentation was substantial and rich in quality. They convinced us that they have now got enough technique and knowledge to graduate from the college.

The students of the Craft and Furniture Making Dept. exhibited many of their works as well as slideshows. It is an advantage of our department: the real work is often more effective than any words.

Kazue Shinkawa exhibited her picture frames. Haruyo Kuno showed us her mobile sculptures and Japanese wooden sandals which she developed by running a series of woodworking workshop to the public. Yasuhiko Kuwamura's work is his man-powered lathes and various turned pieces.

We invited Mr. Itsuya Asahi, a woodworker who taught them for two years, as a guest judge. He gave warm and encouraging comments to each students.

There are still a lot to learn for each of them even after graduating from here. But today's achievement will give them confidence in the real world. Well done and keep on going!
