We are inviting two professional woodturners from Japan and Israel on 2nd and 3rd July to the Academy of Forest Science and Culture.
Ken-ichi Kawakami is a Japanese woodturner who specialises in the Japanese style wood lathe, and supplies plates and bowls to Japanese Shunkei (a style of Japanese lacquer) finishers.
Eli Avisera is a professional woodturner who uses the western style electric lathe and the pole lathe. He runs woodturning courses in his country and overseas.

They will discuss about similarities and differences between Western and Eastern turning techniques, tools, and designs. They will give some demonstrations and tutorials to the participants at our workshop in the Academy too.

講師のお一人は川上憲一さん。和ろくろを用い、飛騨で春慶塗の木地を作る木地師さんです。
もうお一人はエリ・アヴィセラさん。イスラエルのウッドターナーで、西洋旋盤や足踏み式の旋盤を使います。国内外で旋盤教室を開いておられます。
