５月１９〜２０日、岩手県葛巻町の「森と風のがっこう」で、グリーンウッドワークのスプーンづくりの講座をやってきます。
「森と風のがっこう」は、アカデミーの学生がインターンシップなどでいつもお世話になっているところ。今回の講座で、恩返しができるといいのですが。
１泊２日のゆったりしたスケジュールで、１日目は足踏み旋盤を使ってスプーンの外側の形を作り、２日目は彫刻刀でさじ面を削ります。
近隣には、木の器づくりで知られる洋野町（旧大野村）があります。洋野町のデザインセンター所長さんは去年アカデミーで講演をしていただいたことがあり、そのご縁で今回の講座でも木の器持参で交流をしていただけることになりました。
木のスプーンと木の器で、参加者のみなさんと一緒に楽しい時を過ごしてきます！

I am running a greenwood workshop in Morikaze Nature School in Iwate, Japan on 19-20th May.
Morikaze is a famous nature school especially known for its ecological and environmental education programmes. They often accepts our studetns for their work experience. This time I would like to show my gratitude to them by running a green woodwork programme.
We are making a spoon by using a pole lathe. First day we turn outer shape of the spoon, then split it into halves, and carve the inside on the second day.
There is a famous wood turning village nearby, and we have invited the director of design centre to Forest Academy last year as a guest lecturer. This time they are joining our programme at Morikaze with their wooden bowls and plates.
It will be fun to do green woodwork in the beautiful countryside and have nice meal with wooden spoons and bowls!
