森林文化アカデミーを会場に行われた８月８日の「ぎふ山の日」。学生たちもスタッフとして参加したグリーンウッドワーク協会の「木のアクセサリーづくり」は、大盛況のうちに終了しました。詳しい報告はまた改めて掲載しますが、まずはお礼まで！
'The Mountain's Day' festival took place at Gifu Forest Academy on 8th August. Japan Green Woodwork Association presented a wooden accesory making programme, which entertained lots of visitors. Thank you!
この日最初のお客様は古田肇・岐阜県知事です。古田知事には「2007.8.8 山の日」と刻印された特製指輪をプレゼント。「きょうは帰ったら妻の指にこの指輪をはめます」と宣言しておられました。いまごろ、奥様の指を生木の指輪が飾っていることでしょう。
The first visitor of the day was Hajime Furuta, the governor of Gifu prefecture. We gave a special present for him: a wooden ring with '8.8.2007 Mountain's Day' branded on it. He told us that he would put it on his wife's finger.
続いて石川道政・美濃市長もグリーンウッドワーク協会を激励に。
はじめて見る足踏みろくろに興味を示され、「美濃市としても活動を支援しますよ。美濃の町家を無償で（！）使ってもらってもいいね」とのお言葉をいただきました。市長、よろしくお願いします！
Michimasa Ishikawa, the city mayor of Mino, visited us, too. He was so impressed by the pole lathe that he offered his support to our activity. "We can lend you a house in the town centre for free". We will never forget your word, Mr. Mayor!
テレビ局や新聞社の取材も相次ぎ、環境に優しいものづくり、グリーンウッドワークへの人気と期待を肌で感じた一日でした。つづく！
